I like to think that I have a pretty good sense of awareness of my surroundings.  No, not in the sense of "Hey!  There's a tree right over there!"  More like a sense of the people I know and intereact with, their feelings towards myself and others, and the like.  It's not very often that I'm taken by surprise or shocked at the happenings of my friends and family (which is quite a statement, considering the current state of my family).  But I guess it has to happen to everyone, yes? As it turns out, it has.  And looking back, it shouldn't have.  I should have picked up the signs and seen this coming, be it so that I could prevent it or better
